Argentina resumes exporting natural gas to Chile after 11 years

Page view
After 11 years of suspension, the Argentine government officially passed the process of exporting natural gas, and will officially resume the delivery of natural gas to Chile in September.

Argentina's Ministry of Energy and Minerals said on its website on the 22nd that thanks to the previous investment in the "dead cow basin", Argentina was able to resume natural gas exports. With official approval, Argentina will establish a “quick, transparent and fair” natural gas export license approval system. Achievo will sign short-term and long-term agreements.

On March 24, 2004, the Argentine government passed a resolution stating that due to the domestic energy crisis, Azerbaijan decided to suspend the export of natural gas. In 2007, the Argentine government completely terminated the natural gas transmission to Chile.

The “Dead Bulls Basin” is located in the south-central region of Argentina and is rich in oil and gas resources. However, due to the high cost of mining and transportation, it has not been fully developed. Recently, under the impetus of Argentine President Markley, many energy companies, including Argentine oil companies, have begun to invest in the development of oil and gas resources in the “dead cattle basin”.
